Biography

Mané Wunderlich is a Berlin based freelance artist. Holding a degree in business he began his career with a large German bank before setting up on his own business as a management consultant and real estate broker. Since his early years, the autodidact enjoyed painting and sculpture. For him art is not only an instrument to express what he has seen and what he has sensed but also an instrument to comment. Later in his career, his art became an outstanding communicative device enabling him to win over important business partners and to link different parts in the field of business. In his works of art Mané Wunderlich’s focus is mostly on numbers in their aesthetical, mathematical and metaphysical meaning. To him they are excellent figures and symbols allowing classification, exact characterization and a comprehensive nonverbal message. According to the artist, a number is an established certainty in the conscience of every person, possessing the power to represent core values and ideas. Set into a historical or contemporary context and in combination with figurative and abstract elements, he creates various pictures and a world of experience. His manifold works of art are crossing genres of sculpture, painting and video installation, many of his sketch-books concentrate on numbers and letters. The context of Mané Wunderlich’s work composes a world that is all-encompassing, although every individual work of art may stand, be understood and seen for itself. Ausstellungen (Auswahl)
